Le Bar de Fer

7 rue du Pot de Fer // 5ème

Nestled between fondue restaurants on an inviting street just off Rue Mouffetard is Bar du Fer. With tables outside and all important blankets for when the sun goes down, sip your wine watching the hustle and bustle of Friday evenings in the 5th arrondissement.

Alternatively, stick to the indoors to enjoy the sweet sounds of French boys doing acoustic classics of the likes of Oasis, Paolo Nutini and Newton Faulkner and devouring one of the best meat and cheese platters I’ve discovered so far in Paris. And yes, a French accent singing in English really is as dreamy as it sounds.

With polaroid pictures of regulars decorating the walls and graffiti messages from visitors, it’s a cosy place and a Friday favourite.
