Takis: Champs Magnétiques

By Eden Carter

18 February – 17 May, 2015

Palais de Tokyo // 13, avenue du Président Wilson 16ème

If you have seen the basin of light signals in La Defense you already know Takis. Striking, simple, a wisp of mystery and creating a transient pathway between art and science. The exhibit at Palais de Tokyo impresses upon us the smooth lines and sharp edges that embody his diversity. Encompassing magnets, sparks, lightbulbs and sound; these sculptures and installations are stimulating to all the senses in ways both sensual and technological. Sounding a note who's tone is reminiscent of ancient art and science, with immensely modern taste. A refreshing bite of the old turned new.
